When it comes to your artificial grass project, we’ve got you covered from start to finish! We provide excellent products and handle the entire installation process.
While the specific steps may vary based on the existing surface, most projects involve soil excavation, filling it in, levelling and thoroughly compacting the area. Following these steps, we glue artificial grass rolls together and nail them down, ensuring a flawless and durable result.
Depending on your unique needs, we also provide the option to purchase the artificial turf alone or opt for installation on a pre-prepared surface as a cost-effective alternative.
We get this question a lot; unfortunately, the short answer is it depends, and the answer varies based on the specific project details. Because of our experience, we can provide a rough estimate; please note that our estimators create professional quotes based on a variety of factors.
For instance, a project requiring us to cut curves around a pool or other non-straight areas will incur higher costs than a straightforward rectangular backyard installation.
Our artificial grass costs between $2—$4 per square foot. All the prices below include this cost.
Installation costs vary depending on the underlying surface, and the following rates apply to areas greater than 250 sq. ft. For example, installations on cement, decks, balconies, terraces or any already well-prepared area (e.g., levelled and compacted) will cost roughly $5—$8 per square foot.
Unprepared surfaces are more common and more expensive to work on. For areas exceeding 250 square feet, installation on such surfaces typically falls within the range of $10 to $14 per square foot. It’s important to note that larger areas tend to yield a more economical cost per square foot, offering a cost-efficient solution for extensive projects.
We do work on smaller projects (below 250 sq ft), contact us to send you an estimate.
It will depend. Normally, grass is made to last for 10–15 years. However, if maintained properly, it could last you longer.
We offer 3 models of artificial grass:
Bona Soft 38 mm: we offer a 10-year warranty.
Bona Garden 38 mm: we offer 12 years warranty.
Bona Garden 45 mm: we offer 15 years warranty.
While our team can handle the installation process from start to finish, we also empower our clients to do the installation themselves if they prefer! If you’re looking for a DIY project, we deliver the necessary product supplies and valuable guidance for a successful synthetic turf installation.
Below are a few guidelines to consider for your project:
Silica sand is a potential infill option for artificial grass and can be purchased at select hardware stores, including Home Depot, Home Hardware, Rona, Merkley Supply, etc. Alternatively, you can opt for mortar sand, a more cost-effective and readily available alternative commonly found at construction supply stores.
What is Zeolite?
If you have pets and they will be doing their business in the artificial grass, it is recommended to use envirofill or zeolite as infill since it prevents bad smells from the urine of your pets.
To install artificial grass over concrete:
The first step is to remove between 3–4 inches of soil. Next, layer 3–4 inches of stone dust, compact, and level the surface. To prevent the growth of weeds, install geotextile. After executing these important steps, your base is primed for installing artificial grass.
Follow the steps above, and remember that two key factors contribute to a flawless installation: how well you prepared and levelled your base and the precision in gluing the rolls together.
The first step is to measure the installation area’s dimensions. Once you have the measurements, use a sharp cutter and a long ruler (or another straight-edge tool) to ensure a straight and even cut. For complex curves, such as around pools, we recommend using scissors to achieve a smoother and more precise finish that would be more challenging to attain with a simple cutter.
Pro-tip: When cutting, always add an extra 2 inches to the measurement you took. It is better to have a bigger piece than a smaller one to prevent any patchy appearance on your artificial grass. You can always trim down a piece that’s too big, but it’s impossible to make a too-small piece larger.
You need to check the bylaws of your municipality, as each municipality has different regulations pertaining to artificial grass installation. Contact your local authorities to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations before proceeding.
